Flower Petal.

You float down to me from
The clouds above. The sun
Beams down across your surface,
Exposing your imperfections - A
Slight tear in the corner, a hole
No bigger than the head of a pin.
But still you’re perfect to me. Oh,
Flower Petal you’re perfect for me.

You land on my nose, the most
Curious thing. Your soft flesh
Tickles as you float over my lips blessing
Me with a kiss; a drop of sweet nectar
Falls in between the part in my
Lips and falls cleverly on my tongue. Oh,
Flower petal, you taste perfect to me.

The wind picks you up and drops
You in my hand. I glide a careful
Finger over you. You seem to laugh,
Flower petal, as I run my thumb
Over your edges - oh, Flower petal,
It’s been so long since I’ve
Laughed; I almost forgot the
Sound. Until you came, beautiful
Treasure, and you laughed with me. Oh,
Flower petal, you laugh perfect to me.

You float down to me from
The clouds above. The sun
Beams down across your surface,
Exposing your perfections - A
Taste so sweet, a laugh so pure, a hole
No bigger than the head of a pin.
12 years later you’re still perfect to me.
Oh, Flower Petal you’re still perfect for me.
