The Story Of Romance

 I remember all those wonderful legendary stories of fable
Like King Arthur, the knights and his round table.
Where romance and chivalry were at its best
And the King’s Knights were put to the test.
They would fight with their lance and sword
With honor and dignity for their Lord.
And if they won with their might and duty
A prize was awarded by the queen of beauty.
It was a time of courtly love and romance
And the Prince and the Knight took a chance
To win the heart of the woman of his dreams
By being creative, amusing with various schemes.
And the playing of a mandolin by a Troubadour
So he could woo the girl he did adore.
Now, today there is a noble lady in my heart
She is beautiful, and intelligent for just a start
For her, I want to be all she would desire
And be someone that she could admire.
I want to love her, not just in word, but also in deed
And always be there for her in her time of need.
It is my intention, with me, she will never be bored
Or feel unloved, empty and ignored.
This is my hope, my vision and my quest
And with her, I will forever be truly blessed.
