Nothing Better To Say

I know exactly what everyone says
Without the nerve to look in my face
With envious venom they spit out their hate
Always in full measure without any rebate
With nothing better to occupy their time
They sprint from the ridiculous to the sublime
They blurt, they bleat, they whine and they moan
Not knowing the truth they make up their own

He never pays his debts
He gambles and he bets
His sexuality is unsure
He has a disease without a cure
I think indeed he might be queer
He certainly wouldn't be welcome here
I've heard it said he beats his wife
He's never worked a day in his life
Always drunk every night of the week
His life a constant pleasure seek
He's nasty, ugly, mean and cruel
A bastard, a coward and everyone's fool
He’s not to be trusted
We should all be disgusted
Ignoring him without causing a fuss
After all let's face it, he's different from us

I know exactly what everyone says
Without the nerve to look in my face
Blinded by banality they are unable to see
That what they think means nothing to me
I know their sort, I know their ilk
Causing pain for them is mother's milk
They deserve each other these mumbling masses
With their shiny white teeth, the chattering classes
Like bumbling lambs they go to the slaughter
Dissolving to nothing in hate filled laughter
From nothing they came, to nothing they're going
And despite all their screaming and tooing and froing
I see them each day, it always rings true
I'm glad that I‘m me and so glad I'm not you
