The Alarm Rang
The alarm rang.
Rolled from face down,
To my side.
Curled,
Almost,
Fetal,
For a moment.
Pushed myself up,
Swung my legs,
Out of bed,
Sat there.
Morning taste,
In my mouth,
Of last night’s,
Partying.
The guy on the
Radio said,
“19 below zero”.
Stood up,
Shuffled,
Stumbled across,
The floor,
Pulling my shirt off,
Over my head,
Hopping on one foot,
Pushing my pants,
Off to the floor.
Into the bathroom.
Turned on the shower.
It ran cold.
No hot water.
Leaning,
Head down,
Over the sink.
Felt your hands,
On my shoulders.
Felt your breasts,
Against my back,
Your thighs,
Against my butt.
Felt your lips,
Kiss,
The back of,
My neck.
One of your hands,
One my chest,
The other,
On my stomach,
Squeezed me tight,
Against you.
Heard you whisper,
“I love you.”
Rolled from face down,
To my side.
Curled,
Almost,
Fetal,
For a moment.
Pushed myself up,
Swung my legs,
