Gone too Soon

You called me, told me you couldn't move
I felt shocked and at first didn't know what to do
You told me to go and call dad
I did and he came as fast as he could
together we helped you to the car
and prepared to take you to a hospital quite far.
We got there and you said the numbness stopped but after a while it came back.
It ceased again and I thought all will be fine, it felt so good a thought to hope you'll make it through alive.
We waited in the waiting room hoping to see the doctor in time
'cos a stitch in time saves nine.
Knew not we what was next;
we were indisposed to make a behest.
You felt numb again and I helped you lie down.
Suddenly you got into a catatonic state, twitching, I felt extremely down.
You were rushed to a ward with docs and nurses trying calm you down.
You were too strong and they used a sedative, but it took a short time for its effect to be futile.
He jerked again and again and started letting out vomit,
coughing simultaneously and ceaselessly. It persisted and started letting out blood, through his mouth and nostrils too.
He convulsed and finally kicked the bucket with me in front of him feeling helpless.
A sight I will not forget, he died while I was cleaning him up.
Adios bro. Till we meet on that glorious day.
