Digging Up My Heart's Grave
Through the silence
And gentle raindrops on my window
I feel the darkness creeping in
Walls reinforce
Like troops coming to relieve the wounded
My broken mind washes
Your kisses away
And saves them in a little pocket
Labeled "from yesterday"
So long I buried my heart
In the sand so deeply hidden
I can't find it to grasp it
In desperate hands
Aching to clasp with another
And feel the embrace
With all my soul
You revive me
With your presence
But my light fades
When the loneliness
Of nightfall
Arrives
And gentle raindrops on my window
I feel the darkness creeping in
Walls reinforce
Like troops coming to relieve the wounded
My broken mind washes
Your kisses away
And saves them in a little pocket
Labeled "from yesterday"
So long I buried my heart
In the sand so deeply hidden
I can't find it to grasp it
In desperate hands
Aching to clasp with another
And feel the embrace
With all my soul
You revive me
With your presence
But my light fades
When the loneliness
Of nightfall
Arrives
