The Dreamer's Dream
Dream tonight the Dreamer's Dream
and escape the pain and sorrow,
dream of places you have never been
and LIVE before tomorrow
Dream of days much brighter than this,
dream of nights much more devine;
a stressless life, blanketed in bliss
in a world without torment or time
Dream yourself to be anything you want,
dream of passion you desire,
dream without worry of tease or taunt
and set your cold senses on fire!
Let go of the past that haunts you
and dream of the future you seek,
dream of skies more perfect and blue
and of the words you are too scared to speak
Dream of a life you would dare to love,
dream of the secrets trapped in your heart,
dream and obsess like you can't get enough
before the daylight tears them apart
Relax and let soft slumber take you,
don't be afraid of the unseen,
just take a breath as you race towards death
and dream tonight the Dreamer's Dream.

This is agony. The fact that it can only be a dream, that life tends to confiscate all its real possibilities. A dream, a play, a plot that can never be fully acted. It’s sad to know that these things must be dreamt of instead of claimed.
The longing that you’ve invested in this is palpable, as much as is the demand to take every chance available in acting it out, making it more than a dream. The feel of your own reproach to the topic makes it even more powerful, like the voice within had become too persistent and had forced its own articulation.

People are so afraid of each other these days, afraid of life and adventure, afraid of misteps and mistakes but we forget that these things create us as much as we create them. I wrote this piece a long time ago as I myself was learning to live, to let go and truly live my way, my dreams. Thanks again for the read, it has been too long waiting for someone to get this : )
