Deluge of Grief

Internally, these feelings collide,
fueling destruction deep inside.
Dreams have shattered into ash,
in the heart where emotions clash.

Relentless anguish envelops the soul,
eventually it devours me whole.
Tearing at the fabric of my mind,
extinguishing hopes that led me blind.

Lost in the void of misery within,
the abyssal spiral continues to spin.
Swallowed and pummeled by despair,
chained to the curse that I must bare.

With every single breath that is taken,
a new form of pain seems to awaken.
To the core, the soul is shaken...
cast to the fires of the forsaken.

Unable to escape this bodily tomb,
encased in sadness since the womb.
Soaked in the waters of agony,
diminishing what is left of me.

Though this corpse grows and ages...
the internal war constantly rages.
Joy dares not to intervene,
seldom felt, and seldom seen.

So watch this carcass wither and decay...
as all aspirations drain away.
Imprisoned in myself, a slave to my pain...
I must relive my torment, again and again.
