Betrayed
Oh, God
Can you tell me
Why you have
Betrayed me?
An ever
Faithful servant
Brought low now
To the point
Below the filth
In my life I served the will of the cross
Spreading your name, no matter what it cost
The blood I spilled will not wash away
Have left my hands bloody, wrinkled and gray
I made examples with innocent blood
But you have left me beaten in the mud
Abandonment in my darkest hour
On the face of death I lost my flower
This solitude was born in the cold breeze
I kneel before you, begging on my knees
There’s no need for me to even be saved
Lord, I beg you, return her from the grave
She feel silently like a dying star
And dashed my hopes on the rocks below
I may have been vain but pure was her heart
Split in twain in crashing waters and undertows
Starlight gleams on her marble tomb
Beneath the silver light of the moon
The betrayal burns in my heart
A branding seal revealed
Where entwined roses torn apart
Eidolons sing vehemently
In those spider webbed shivering trees
Haunting chapel in gray forest
Clinging to long days gone
Away in a time of unrest
The eerie calm of two dead hearts severed
Wrapped in rusted mesh too long deceased
Unjust was the fate that was delivered
Suffering, agony is the will of the beast
The voice in the shadow
Is laced with splendors of below
Lo and behold a broken wreck of man
Lost to wander the wastes of all the lands
I linger in the deep shadows of night
The brush of cold death that’s beyond the light
Under the facade of lonely drifters
Lurks a beast below the wolfen shifters
Graveyards ring mournfully with saddened songs
Are like lullabies with their dulcet tones
The wailing mothers and drinking fathers
Suddenly without their sons and daughters
Beyond the hope of wise men and rangers
Lost to the whiles of the blood red stranger
Oh, God
Can’t you see what
What’s done when you
Betrayed me?
I never
Will see you now
As a savior
But condemner
To love so true
Can you tell me
Why you have
Betrayed me?
An ever
Faithful servant
Brought low now

Below the filth
In my life I served the will of the cross
Spreading your name, no matter what it cost
