Free Yourself

I look around and see a world in need...
that has been torn by war, poverty, and greed.
I look to the stars, to clear my head,
but see nothing but poison clouds instead.

I see the elderly ignored, and people enslaved...
Innocents are murdered with no hope to be saved.
The children are among the numerous dead,
casualties of meaningless bloodshed.

The corporate machine pummels without remorse,
Running it's course, with excessive force.
The police now armed with military gear,
and have become a presence to instill fear.

Armed with assault rifles, and miniature tanks...
I suppose the president expects our thanks.
So thank you sir, for enforcing your will...
thank you for every person you kill.

Thank you for all of the pain you instill,
and for all of the mass graves you fill.
I am so happy for our diminishing rights,
and for rallying the wars that the poor man fights.

Please deny us an adequate wage,
and bully us when we gather in rage.
The government is elated, they do not care,
that you cry in despair from endless warfare.

They have no conscience, they must destroy...
lining their pockets with each missile they deploy.
They will rob you of your little girl or boy,
they need more "soldiers" under their employ.

The time has come for a new frame of mind,
no longer should people walk hopeless and blind.
It is now that we should make the stand,
for the lunacy is already far out of hand.

We should not allow these atrocious notions,
that pollute our minds, our skies, and our oceans.
Say "NO" to war and Genocide,
awaken your humanity inside.

Free yourself from the master's obsession,
crawl out from under the hypnotic oppression.
Free yourself! And let your voice be heard!
for every heart stirred, will soon spread the word.

You see, they cannot exist without you or me,
which is why their biggest fear...is a mind that is free.
