The Law of Conservation of Love
The night descends
Carrying the weight of despair
Bereft of all hope
I slip into that unconsciousness
That should bring relief
But dreams negate
That reprieve
From seeing
Feeling
Knowing
My love is lost
The morning ascends
Bearing hope for a new day
True love endures
Supersedes our mistakes
Shines light on lies
Making the truth itself enough
That gift
Allows the heart to see
Forgive
Know
Love is never lost

As a scientist I love the title. I am not at all sure that I agree with your conclusion but it is well expressed. The first stanza has a good flow and concise expression. I feel that the second stanza is less successful. The rhythm is broken. Would not a broken rhythm in the first stanza and a smoother, calmer one in the second have been more in tune with the structure of the poem. Just a thought.
