**As Is**

you only want the best of me
and granted you deserve the very best
but what about the rest of me
is loving that to great a test

i am human...i am flawed
but mistakes don't define my heart
my heart's complexity is as broad
and abstract as art

no one, I repeat no one is perfect
and I am no exception
the pedestal you want me perched upon
is not a realistic perception

im only human, humans stumble
and even fall down sometimes
I will make mistakes
even cross the line

but im more than woman enough
to own up to mine
work on it and try to get better
with divine grace and time

don't hold me to standards
that you yourself can't adhere to
see pass my flaws see my heart
accept me, as is,as  I do you
