Ultra Violet Light

It's been a while, since
I decorated
my pages, with one
of these
Probably a far-to-long
while;
really

I don't even have, that
Whiskey
in the left hand
to set the mood
Make the words flow

They are
going
to work; on their
own

Unedited
Unclean
Uncut

So I've been
fighting
the Gantries*

I've fought them

Fucking fed the war
my heart
my head
my money
and all I had to offer

It's been three years, now

Here I sit
staring at the carpet
(that contemplation carpet)
wondering

Wondering, how in the fuck
I am suddenly an
outsider
uninvolved
(not completely-I know that)
But divorced
from the reality
of the fight
that I spent
days in the bunkers
for?

What was the history
that lead
to feeding
confidence
to lions
that
devoured energy?

I get up from
the carpet stare
check the cupboard
looking for
that
Whiskey
These words are looking
as bare
as a cupboard
with no glass
bottles

Found a paper
a pink note page
with a
quote
written
in hand
An unfamiliar
hand
Unrecognizable

It shouts at me

"If you STOP for Love, You'll never start again."

Oh, how crazy
The fantasy
was only
a kiss under
the Gantry*

Fortunately

One thing
that
affects
us all
internationally
is

Cancer[.]

Note:- [Gantry*] In South Africa, our people are united in a war against Electronic Tolling Gantries, over our old national roads.
