Paris Lights
Buttons undone
Have I impressed anyone
Almost pushed to the brink
I suppose I'll sit here and think
Laced, curled and taught
Unlike your coda, you don't fade you rot
Paris lights are dreams
When we're all stuck here in thought
Can't wrap my mind around these things
That shed light on apologies
'round here we sip from glass
And run our hands through the trees
Waist deep in fear
Sunrise is nowhere near
Breathing in the cold
Meanwhile I wish you were here
I might have come off better
If I'd sent one less love letter
But I swear this is my last
So when you read it, don't cry
Have I impressed anyone
Almost pushed to the brink
I suppose I'll sit here and think
Laced, curled and taught
Unlike your coda, you don't fade you rot
Paris lights are dreams
When we're all stuck here in thought
Can't wrap my mind around these things
That shed light on apologies
'round here we sip from glass
And run our hands through the trees
Waist deep in fear
Sunrise is nowhere near
Breathing in the cold
Meanwhile I wish you were here
I might have come off better
If I'd sent one less love letter
But I swear this is my last
So when you read it, don't cry
