Mom's Prayers
I go to the place
Where I like to be
No need to keep up pace
This is where my mind sees
Closing my eyes, no one around
I hear the rain as I
Let my guard down
Oh, that sound
In my head all day and all night
Thoughts race and slow, I can't control
Walking around just trying to take flight
But it's become harder than I've ever known
Can't accept the things I can never know
Approaching green forests and animals
Take refuge under the big oak
The Sun goes down and I'm frightful
When the going gets rough I always choke
But I'm surfing on turbulent waters
I've never known another way
Feeling like I was meant to be a daughter
Just wish my mother didn't have to pray
Where I like to be
No need to keep up pace
This is where my mind sees
Closing my eyes, no one around
I hear the rain as I
Let my guard down
Oh, that sound
In my head all day and all night
Thoughts race and slow, I can't control
Walking around just trying to take flight
But it's become harder than I've ever known
Can't accept the things I can never know
Approaching green forests and animals
Take refuge under the big oak
The Sun goes down and I'm frightful
When the going gets rough I always choke
But I'm surfing on turbulent waters
I've never known another way
Feeling like I was meant to be a daughter
Just wish my mother didn't have to pray
