Frozen In Time
The cold circulates within my chamber walls
I stare out into the pale landscape
Your face stained in the window pane
As soft whispers creep through the cracks
That leave chills quivering up my spine
The fallen snow has covered your footprints
But i can still remember where you stood
When you left me that one autumn morning
Blindly, I follow them into the barren forest
Chasing your ghost as I have so much before
Holding on to the delusion you are still here
Lost in the fury of your hatred and self indulgence
I thought surely my love alone,
Could have melted your iron core
But the deafening sounds of ice breaking beneath us
Reaffirms that everything we once had is lost
Slowly, inch by inch, we drift further apart
I begin to feel the somber disconnect
Watching you become a moment frozen in time
I stare out into the pale landscape
Your face stained in the window pane
As soft whispers creep through the cracks
That leave chills quivering up my spine
The fallen snow has covered your footprints
But i can still remember where you stood
When you left me that one autumn morning
Blindly, I follow them into the barren forest
Chasing your ghost as I have so much before
Holding on to the delusion you are still here
Lost in the fury of your hatred and self indulgence
I thought surely my love alone,
Could have melted your iron core
But the deafening sounds of ice breaking beneath us
Reaffirms that everything we once had is lost
Slowly, inch by inch, we drift further apart
I begin to feel the somber disconnect
Watching you become a moment frozen in time
