I Felt It
I know
You wanted me to fall into it
I felt it
And though my heart could have been helpless
I fought it with all I had
Because it was much easier to dismiss
If I were brave, I'd tell you this
But I'm not
Insecurities ran high
Reassurance seemed to fail
You didn't know what to say
And I knew why
So you took action
Forced me to listen
And though it was terrifying
I still heard you out
I'd have preferred not to
Because it was slightly awkward
Though somehow in the best way
I asked you to say something
But you spoke wordlessly
I wanted distraction
But you came through so loud
Made me take your hand
I went with you
Eventually
And you'll never know
That I felt it
Because I never spoke wordlessly
I used too many words
Created sentences to detract
And only shied away
And I'm sorry that you don't know
That I see you didn't want to go
I guess I just know I find it easy to stay
And you don't
Or so I thought
You wanted me to fall into it
I felt it
And though my heart could have been helpless
I fought it with all I had
Because it was much easier to dismiss
If I were brave, I'd tell you this
But I'm not
Insecurities ran high
Reassurance seemed to fail
You didn't know what to say
And I knew why
So you took action
Forced me to listen
And though it was terrifying
