dream sequence
I can't sleep.
the corners reach for the feet dangling off of my too small bed. To drag me off to skeletal dreams in black and white.
And the shadows seep through my arms, try to reach that sensitive skin as I clench my muscles tight and try to forget.
I feel bugs crawling down my skin, through the weakness. Tempting my fingernails with their tiny legs. I can feel the shadows staring through my blankets at me. Trying to find a way in Creeping it's way through each layer of skin while I lie there
trying to forget
and I see your face, twisting towards mine with blood churning in your eyes and lust for violence in your expression. Your neck is bent backwards towards me with your arms reached towards my unprotected body.
The blanket will protect me, right?
my eyes burn from being open too long but my body is still alive with fear and with fright.
I twist myself in my blankets and close my eyes
trying to forget.
Heat envelops my body. Like sticking a hand in a fire, my skin itches to be freed. The blanket of warmth boiling through the blood in my veins, sticking blankets on my sweat. I feel like I'm melting, and I stick a leg out
only to be dragged away to the corner of the thoughts in my mind.
a knife dragged through my chest until it finds my heart beating slow for the last time. Skeleton hands bruise my arm as the creep towards my insides and I fight back for once.
blood warms me up when it fills my bed. Seeping through my clothes to unprotected legs. Endless miles of deadly imagination spanning across broken bed springs.
