Song Book
"Voi ch'ascoltate in rime sparse il suono
di quei sospiri ond'io nudriva 'l core..."
Could we - after centuries - read this,
would we remember its author at all,
had we been better off,
if he'd finally got her?

OK sodium 589....
You knew I couldn't help myself....Google it I did...
It sounds better being read in Italian than the English translation I read out aloud....
Would we've been better off?....something to ponder because I haven't read enough about him yet...
but he's on my list to do....
very interesting men ....you and Francesco Petrarch.....
For a woman he would never know
For a woman he could never have
He should change the world forever....
Thought provoking lines these are.....

Thank you very much, Kate.
"For a woman he would never know

Wow! Sounds like the beginning of a new poem...
Is there a chance to read it some day? :-)

Unfortunately they are not my words.....
I found them on the website for Francesco Petrarch....
They are beautiful....
And I've been pondering since reading them...
I'm always interested in what attracts a person to the love of their life..
And is really love or lust...
Heard today of this fellow whose wife left him because she couldn't handle the stares they got in public because he lost part of a leg in Afghanistan...if this is true....is love so shallow?
Getting a bit deep there kate....

"...is love so shallow?"
It is! But......
this is only one end of the range - the other one is Abaelard & Heloise, Romeo & Juliet...
Sic itur ad astra!
And we have to get there in between and to never give up in trying to reach the stars! :-)

The other end of the spectrum it is & yes we, I, will continue to reach for the stars.....
You're sounding like a romantic sodium 589...a many faceted person indeed....
I guess your 'not yet known entity' is driving you to find that special someone so they can come along....
Have 'they' (it might be twins) given you a time frame?....
