How To Tame Lions

The same song plays on my stereo,
It's stuck on repeat and I can't get it off.
The lyrics go around in my head,
Making me want to...

The rain pours down onto my body.
I'm standing outside her house.
My shirt is soaked,
No one answers the door.
I turn away,
Alone.

The water from my hair
Saturates my pillow,
My wet shirt
Lies draped over a pile of old school books and paperwork.
The ink will run and it wont be readable.

There are empty beer bottles
Strewn across my desk,
A half smoked pack of cigarettes,
Partly visible underneath a pile of cloths.
My guitar's under my arm,
A pen in my hand and paper at my feet.

Drops of water,
Not rain but tears
Are soaking the ground around me.

I'll stay here staring out my window
Until the dawn light comes shining through the clouds,
The light of hope.
