Bittersweet Memories of the Future
Watching, waiting from across the room
Wishing you were by my side, as you always are
This love, this life, is taking over
Tears no longer taste of sadness
But of the happiest taste of which
My tongue ever did touch
Sometimes I daydream about the day
When you'll come back to me
I am holding to small children
With ringlets of dark hair falling onto their shoulders
Tears are rolling down my cheeks
A moment I had waited for much too long
You approach me and I welcome you with a kiss
You take the smallest of the children from my arms and begin to cry
Fresh feelings of love come to you,
For you have yet to lay eyes upon your daughter's face until now
For once, I feel like a FAMILY
For once, I feel WHOLE
I know I belong here
Wishing you were by my side, as you always are
This love, this life, is taking over
Tears no longer taste of sadness
But of the happiest taste of which
My tongue ever did touch
Sometimes I daydream about the day
When you'll come back to me
I am holding to small children
With ringlets of dark hair falling onto their shoulders
Tears are rolling down my cheeks
A moment I had waited for much too long
You approach me and I welcome you with a kiss
You take the smallest of the children from my arms and begin to cry
Fresh feelings of love come to you,
For you have yet to lay eyes upon your daughter's face until now
For once, I feel like a FAMILY
For once, I feel WHOLE
I know I belong here
