A Taste of Heaven
I take a drink
And then another
Sips turn to gulps
The bottle is pushed to the side
Forgotten
Just like me
The alcohol isn't enough to kill the pain
To numb my mind
The razor whispers
Scarlet lines appear one by one
I savor them all
The thin, delicate metal slicing through my flesh
I laugh like dying is just a joke
I pity those who fear something so beautiful, so heavenly
It gradually consumes me
Giving me comfort that I have never been offered before
And then another
Sips turn to gulps
The bottle is pushed to the side
Forgotten
Just like me
The alcohol isn't enough to kill the pain
To numb my mind
The razor whispers
Scarlet lines appear one by one
I savor them all
The thin, delicate metal slicing through my flesh
I laugh like dying is just a joke
I pity those who fear something so beautiful, so heavenly
It gradually consumes me
Giving me comfort that I have never been offered before
