Never Endering
[b]Light comes and goes
Shadows fade from sight
Darkness consumes me
As the hurt resides
The mask begins to break
As I begin to fall
I glance around looking for help
Yet There is none
I remain alone within this
But then suddenly I am standing
Within this Empty place
My fight carries on
As I walk with these wounds
Scars soon fade
But the memory remains.
So I carry on this war
Gathering more scars
I scream but no sound is heard
I cry yet none notices
So I wear the mask
Hiding within this never ending darkness[/b]

I kinda picture the "mask" being a smile we force ourselves to put on. But we can only fake it for so long before it fades and our faces reveal the true nature of our emotions. An I reading this right? The second verse I completely understand. No help to be found...

You are correct Shadow, The mask is a smile, it's like you are not you, your just basically putting on a face that makes others happy because your scared to show them what you feel. Yes the Mask can slip, it is bound to. But I have learned to keep it up all the time when around people. I am glad that you get my meaning behind this one.

At least we have the internet where we can be who we really are, and in the company of souls who understand and accept, it's healing to let the mask fall away, finally a sense of freedom in a world of hypocrisy and slavery of the mind and emotions. Great ink, thank you for sharing :)
