My Light
My room is a room of many.
There is a mirror here.
As the fragments form to make a reflection
I become filled with emptiness
Trapped in normality
And infused with morphing desires.
There is a gem here.
A drowning sapphire
from a dark night last fall
It is the only thing left
From a collection of
Fear, anxiety, and broken promises.
Bad welfare causing farewells that never fair well...
The voices in my room remind me
I am not alone.
There is a window here.
Always open so the reality of the world
Never fails to set in.
I stand, gazing and watching life
Pass me by.
I see dead bodies, burned crosses, tension
injustice, and blind judgments.
The culmination... society.
There is a light here.
My savior from the darkness around me
Guiding me through the darkness of the night
A constant reminder of a brighter day
Everyone in my room has their own.
My room is a room of many.
