I Crumble

stone wall...

meditating on building strength
after repeatedly being torn down

the mental capacity for stress
until I'm a stuttering, mumbling fool
clawing at my face
while streaming salty tears
silent screams inside my brain
insane

and heart's capability to drop
from above cloud nine
somewhere breathless
in the stars of the stratosphere
no fear

stone wall...

chanting on in monotone
like a robotic war cry
prepared for neither
victory nor defeat
silly me

but he looks at me with
that knowing expression
and his eyes demand truth
i  just crumble to pieces
and let myself fall
straight into his arms
safe and warm

even falling apart
i'm held together
