Silence is power, so they say
Its a woman's strength, they believe.
Always be good, obedient and smile,
There mother's advise.
As you swallow the bitterness that others give,
Its much easier to nod your head and say Yes!
No trouble even if you don't agree.

Declared insolent they are,
If they speak a little louder,
Than they should have:
So learning to whisper is there priority.
There voices; soft, sweet, and delicious
To the ears of authority.

The shield of silence; with love their mothers provided:
Smiling politely when older men give them kisse,
On their cheeks, hands around their innocent bodies.
A good touch. Right.Wrong.
Pride tears and forgiveness they offer.
Silent and emotion-less they stand;
'Coz nothing was going to hurt them.
Thyself, the essence that molds and
Holds an individual; silence had killed.
Leaving an empty shell ; a bird without the courage to fly.
Fly for freedom.
