Misanthropy
There’s suicide songs playing and I’m singing along,
Misery like company well I’d rather be alone.
The sun’s too dark and the moon’s to frail,
Sadness is hidden behind this blackened veil.
"Like fault, like punishment"; this is what I get,
Sadness and pain, topped off with regret.
The dead and their caskets; I and my bed,
The end meets up with the paths that we all led.
“He that lives long suffers much”,
Pray and wait for the day that I do depart.
Into a black lake, where I belong,
A place of solitude to weep alone.
Misguided ghosts haunt me in day,
A wretched soul in pain and in dismay.
A flailed soul; beaten and abused,
Happiness and joy are leisure’s I have been refused.
I’ll take my place upon the gallows,
Misandry and misanthropy take place of all hallows.
