Wait, Come Back
When the accident first happened
I thought there'd be no pain
As extreme as the one I was feeling
The thought of you gone was as unbearable as it was heartbreaking
You, the one who brought my shrieking 6 pound naked self into the world
the one who made sunday breakfast enjoyable with just your smile
you, who taught me how to walk, talk and love
wait, come back
I can't remember how sweet your voice is
It's no longer ringing in my ears
wait, come back
I forget what it's like to have your hand hold mine
your hand is no longer reaching me
mom
mommy
where are you
come back to me
you always said you would
wait,
the photographs don't perfectly represent the plump colour of your lips
if a picture can supposedly say a thousand words
why can I think of none that perfectly describe you
wait,
come back
I thought there'd be no pain
As extreme as the one I was feeling
The thought of you gone was as unbearable as it was heartbreaking
You, the one who brought my shrieking 6 pound naked self into the world
the one who made sunday breakfast enjoyable with just your smile
you, who taught me how to walk, talk and love
wait, come back
I can't remember how sweet your voice is
It's no longer ringing in my ears
wait, come back
I forget what it's like to have your hand hold mine
your hand is no longer reaching me
mom
mommy
where are you
come back to me
you always said you would
wait,
the photographs don't perfectly represent the plump colour of your lips
if a picture can supposedly say a thousand words
why can I think of none that perfectly describe you
wait,
come back
