ONE DAY WITH DEATH
I wake up in the morning light
Not slept well last night
Misery slowly settling with its delight
And death suddenly occupies my room .
I went to call some old friend
Who’s gone somewhere and many days absent
Who fills my room with talks of jokes and girls
Suddenly I saw death occupying my chair.
I had lunch without appreciating the food
I know I’m getting a very bad mood
Found my room dirty and all works left
In a vision’s flash I saw death sleeping on my bed .
All the evenings with ashes and smoke
I can’t bear my thoughts wanting me to choke
Usually this happens when death provokes
I see death is happy in her cruel face .
I had dinner and cuddled fast under the blanket
Death spoke the reason of why she’s entangled
I nearly finished a bottle of madness and rum
Preparing to end myself wishing my death to come.
At midnight when I was suffocating
‘Leave this mortality , your cause of pain’ -she was instigating
‘See how beautiful I’m and let’s have the pleasure
Me the death is your peace and you can measure .’
Morning came but I still found myself awake
I went to the kitchen for a cup of coffee to make
Death still sitting on my table saying ‘I’ll arrive on another day
You’ll need me in the end , but sparing you today …’
