Courtship of the Sea ((January 25th, 2011))

Will the captain go down with his ship?
Will he fell the grip of the Ocean?
Her soft chilled hands upon his skin?
Enticing him to her passionate embrace
Her longing for his Human warmth

Mourning after his Warmth has gone.
There is no fun in a cold companion.
She licks at his feet
Cherishing the rapid beat just under his Skin.

This foreign Beat
It sparks a mem'ry of long ago
Many many years have passed
Since that Beat was hers.

He is closer to giving in
She can sense it in his mind
As he falls to his knees in Surrender
He is struck by the lucid beauty she possesses.

She holds him softly
Placing his warm Sailors hand
Against her soft breast with her own
She moves it to where the Beating once was.

She is puzzled by the look of profound  shock on his face.
She breaths deep
Knowing this very Human act will still his mind.
As she exhales soft luminous bubbles leave her mouth
Small delicate teeth are shown
Sharp as needles but also harmless.

As she opens her eyes once again
She looks upon his face
Seeing the desire in his Human eyes
Knowing the weakness of his Will.

Still holding his hand on her breast
She reaches out with her other
Carressing the rough stubble on his face
Like nothing else under the waves.

This ones is fiery red
Mesmerising in the late afternoon sun
She moves to his eyes
A green which startles her
For it matches her very own.

In his eyes she sees many things
The soft grasses of a moor in the summer
A little boy's toes in the warm mud
A creature...A dog? Around the boy

With a shudder she now sees a landscape
Covered and encased in white
A nip colder than anything her Waters can bring
Felt in the source of the Beating.
A small girl still and pale
No Beating inside her.

With a sigh she enfolds him in her embrace
This one Shall Not die
She vows.

With a deep breath she Shares hers
Their lips join as she plunges into her home.
She needs not this Breath
But she knows his Fragile frame does.

And as she shoots across the gloom
His salty lips mold to hers
In a sensation she has never felt before.

She wraps her blue-tinged fingers in his hair
The fiery red dimmed some
But given new life entwined in her own.
Her hair that smells of seaweed
And is the colour of Midnight Seas

And with a final breath
They breach the waters surface
And bob in the placid waters of an Ocean cave.

It sparkles with many jewels
Otters frolick to and fro
In the waters and on the floor
They great her in a chorus of joyous squeaks
She replies in kind.

The man's eyes dart about
Consumed by wonder at what's before him
He looks down as he feels solid stone against his feet
And takes the steps out of the Water.

At the far end of her Sacred Place
There is an exit
Warm summer breeze drifting in
He wants to run
He knows he should
But where?
And to who?

There's nothing left for him
Did she know?
Had she seen it in his eyes?

He took a few steps towards the exit
Then tripped and fell
A baby otter slept softly on the floor
And he knew he couldn't leave it
Couldn't leave Her.

And as the days and months passed on
He began to change
And so did she
Him like her
And her like him
They met somewhere in the middle.

Her blue had turned to green
His white had turned to silver
Their eyes remained the same.

Then one day
She climbed the steps
On new found limbs
As they wrapt
One around the other.

In passion she had never dreamt
It filled her mind and body full
As they met
Forever bound
Never alone.

And then the Beating came
Thundering like a coming tide
Warmth flooded Her
Filling a hole that had been aching
Underneath her conscious mind.

It startled both him and her
As she awakened
Unaware the she had been asleep.

And thus the Courtship of the Sea
Comes to an end
Finally.
