Not Enough
I'm not good enough for you.
Okay? I know!
I know no matter what I stay away from,
How many good grades I bring home,
Or how many nights I stay home while other kids my age are out,
It'll never be enough.
EVER.
There will always be something I did wrong.
A couple of ugly, black splatters on the otherwise
Pristine, white board of my existence.
No one is perfect.
Not even you.
But I guess you expect me to be.
Well, guess what!
I'm not.
I don't want to be.
I NEVER will be
The daughter you want me to be.

Great writing. I feel very sad for the subject in this poem, the way she feels trapped inside herself. Feeling one is not good enough (but I'm sure you are) is such a shame but by being yourself & doing what you wanna do (within reason of course!) will bring you happiness, I'm sure. If whatever you're doing isn't good enough by other people's standards anyway, why not try & swing life around in the direction you want it to go, I'd call this a no brainer. Be yourself & but be good at it. Hey!
