Losing Your Memory
Memories.
The things that we all hold dear,
the things we wish to always remember,
or they could be the things we wish to forget-
lock them up like some bad dream that should
have never made it to the surface of
our minds.
All too well people soon forget-
forget the reason why they held
onto a certain event for so long.
Then there are the others who just
let their memories consume them-
they're no longer the people they
use to be.
And maybe that's when things start
to change for the worse.
Because, somewhere, in that fine line
of remembrance and forget-is something
that made that person them
Or somewhere in there, inside that
very same line-you stood.
Maybe the memory of a loved one
is locked inside your head
and, for whatever reason, you just
can't get them out of your head.
Because every time you look at a picture,
an old chat you had, through stories you
held with them-you can never let them go.
You can never let the lively person they were
go-and all you have left is a hole within
your heart where that one person stood.
Or maybe it's friends.
Maybe you went through your whole life
with these people-people you always thought
of as siblings when they weren't.
You just spent so much time with them, you
all were just family from different blood.
But, sadly, sometimes water proves to thicker
than blood.
You go through life with your friends-
spending countless laughs, mistakes,
situations that would cause anyone to judge you-
but you wouldn't care, you were friends.
Friends do anything and almost everything together-
it was just in the nature.
Every memory was something magical-
then all too sudden it vanished.
Your lives go separate-
the memories you all made together seemed
to be only far away pipe dreams.
At times, they appeared to be only things
you dreamed about your own self-
seeing how you are the only one that actually
remembers them.
The others had completely forgotten-
and forgotten you in the process in
doing so.
Then, when the times come,
and you get to where you can't
hardly remember a thing at all-
the fight to remember all the bad, the
good, and the meaningful things come
into action.
You try your hardest-it just never
works out the way you want it to.
You forget everything-you only
remember certain events.
Some where you just make up the whole
events in your head because you
honestly don't remember.
And all too suddenly-
you forget.
Just like everyone else did
long before you.
Because at times, no matter
how much you want to keep them,
you sometime in your life-either
young or old-you always lose your
memory.
Yet, you never forget the pain.
And that's when the fine line...
Becomes to much to handle.
