Remembering Why

Its Funny how pain hides like a punk
and then when you least expect it
it comes and punches you in the face
you forget the things that make you happy
and things stop mattering
you become taken over by sadness
and you stop caring about people
you close yourself out
you build a brick wall of fear and distrust
Life becomes meaningless
the days aren't even days anymore
they become just things that you have to go through
they fly by like breeze and events begin to jumble together
your life becomes nothing more than than a blur of blues and blacks
you see your parents worrying
and you just don't care
school becomes an abyss of peace
from the bickering and pains that comes with being at home
life stops being important and losing it...
seems like an escape from all of your problems
you start to cut yourself to relieve the stress
the blood that you release willingly
 becomes the pain that
you wish would flow away just as easily
you stop eating and keep cutting
your health slopes downhill your loved ones are worried
but you don't care you tell them you're fine
but they know there is something deeper
you put up your guard so no one can get through
your self-isolation is slowly killing you slowly
so one day your family decides that it is time for an intervention
so you end up in the therapist's office
and she asks "why are you hurting yourself purposely?"
you stop and think for a while
and then you realize....
That you have a problem
