Young Night

Young Night

Something incongrous about this setting
In a crowded dining hall
On the banks of a lake
Surrounded by abundant nature and savannah wildlife.
Ignorant of the cacophony
Of peers' loud chatter
I'm engaged in a radiant colloquy
My interlocutor
An elegant young lady
With an imaginative mind
And mesmerizing beauty
Her words echo
through my ears
As I'm raptured by her hypnotising eyes
I still recall the chat
vividly
Isolated in my personal bubble
I ask:
Young night,
Why did you pass?
