similar souls
we were never mates
and what was common never showed its face
but i could see it in your eyes
we are the same shade of dark inside
your mark on life makes me open wide
i break a little thinking of your eyes
the first time
you cornered me
you offered me
a piece of me i was missing
and you took my wallet
with my eyes lost in distance
prisons
traps
chains
square maps
with edges that paper cut your fingers
and drizzle the oceans back into an upside down sky
thinking of you now
and your pleasant grin
i never felt so at home
with a new person
you were dope
you were dopamine
you were close
you were never that close to me
house arrest cant keep you out of my thoughts
steel doors, civil courts and police reports
hope died by design
but wow, those 5 year old eyes
the memory as dim as the lights were
by accident i ran into you, for sure
i couldn't help myself
nothing i could do would work
have you ever been so desperate to drown water tastes like air?
have you ever been so in love getting black out drunk is preferred?
i cant think of the word, paralysis? handicapped?
what words can tell you what its like to die looking in the direction of a person who barely notices you're alive?? is there an expression in language to give you the impression i get when i look in her eyes? even in the confides of my own mind she's a viper. How do i capture the idea? you're human laughing gas? you make me loose my soul, you make me want it gone, give you hand and let you keep my arm
i look at you like a newborn
you look at me the same but the other way
you are the most amazing thing I've ever seen
small and mesmerizing. glowing in the dark.
she's the ocean
she's the country
she's the whole world
with galaxies instead of brown eyes
i kiss you carefully
like expensive liquor
i swirl
i see colors
the lights are dim
id die right here
so happy
and what was common never showed its face
but i could see it in your eyes
we are the same shade of dark inside
your mark on life makes me open wide
i break a little thinking of your eyes
