smiling at the wall
not hearing you on the other side
dreams conjure hope
yet the spark is deferred
time travels on while emotions sink in sand
locked in a cage of desire
you swallowed the key and ran from me
the imagination has been breeched
clouds of thunder dance on my joy
smiling at the wall
no one smiling back at me

One-sided relationships are the hardest to bear... Having said that, I quite enjoyed all the detail in your poem, very thoughtfully crafted.
