Fall to Snow

November whispers in the cold air chill
Thriving life stops dead and still
Petals shrivle piece by piece 
All life stops, movements cease
Frost moves in to dampen air
Rodents scurry to quickly prepare 
And just like that in the midnight hour
Comes waves of white to cover flowers
Outside every window and down every street
The life of fall and winter meet
Fall to snow the snowflakes obey
Whiting out the warmth of Novembers day
For months to come the cold air blows
The snow is tricky, it comes and goes
Some light and romantic that fall with ease
And gently settle atop the trees
Other freezing and violent gusts sweep
Life left frozen from week to week
Air so cold it stings your lungs
Words spoken through chattered teeth and toung
All soon forgotten when let indoors
To sip hot coco while fires roar
Breath comes back to meet your lips
And close around a cup to sip
This beautiful winter wonderland
Is perhaps up close, not so grand
But warm inside with cold away
The white can blow and freeze to stay.
