Accipere Virtutem Tuam

Red wine stains on all my filigree entombed china.

Hear the years shatter on the marble faces of women long since dead.

Listen to to creak of old bones, twisting in rotten coffins. Can you fathom the sound of silk and lace, holding dusty sternums in their place.

Remnants of a time where wonder was still abounds, her heart not yet sullied by calloused & swollen fingers, tugging at the edges. Nails scratching at the surface of a muscle that could still yet heal.

The question that is on the tip of your tongue, no need to voice, the big word that everyone is afraid to say...

RAPE

This women, who in her final resting place could be your mother, your sister or even your daughter. What have YOU done to ease her suffering?

Hounded her about her clothes, her hair even her own undergarments. Made her feel like the weight of everything that has ever gone wrong in YOUR life.
Is this her doing?
Are we the ones to blame when you lay your hate filled words upon  our bodies?
Are we at fault when our innards are used to create against our will.

Thus you call us evil, Satan's spawn, defilers & Babylon's get.

How are we ment to stand tall when all we do is struggle against your tide of testosterone fueled violence?
When we burn our bars in protest we mutter murder under breath...

This is what we want to say...
