Alone
Alone I lay here, sleeping with my eyes open
Nothing can comfort my stillness
The pillow under my head
Nor the blanket on top of me
The moon casting its rays upon me
Like some prowler in the night looking at me
Shining its flashlight at a person
A person so desperately trying to stay asleep
I am shivering and cold
The bed creaks at every heartbeat
My body aches as my legs twitch
I cannot move, I cannot get up
Lights come in from outside
Making spirits or demons dancing on the walls
They are laughing at me
I cannot close my eyes, I am afraid
They might attack me in my sleep
So I lay here with my eyes open
So tired, so still
And so all alone
Nothing can comfort my stillness
The pillow under my head
Nor the blanket on top of me
The moon casting its rays upon me
Like some prowler in the night looking at me
Shining its flashlight at a person
A person so desperately trying to stay asleep
I am shivering and cold
The bed creaks at every heartbeat
My body aches as my legs twitch
I cannot move, I cannot get up
Lights come in from outside
Making spirits or demons dancing on the walls
They are laughing at me
I cannot close my eyes, I am afraid
They might attack me in my sleep
So I lay here with my eyes open
So tired, so still
And so all alone
