Insane

INSANE

Every time I take long strides forward
I find myself falling back
When the inner rhythm guides me I get too comfortable and I lose all inhibitions
and I fall deeper into myself
Then I become trapped inside a merciless maze of a mad man’s perception
Only a man that is truly insane would have total faith, that somehow, someway
He will survive as the walls crumble around him
I laugh as the water continues to rise and everywhere I look there’s smoke
I do not fear the heat from the flame as a matter of fact; I need the fire to get hotter
Because if I ain’t scorched by now, purification is sure to set in soon
While I levitate in the midst of this storm called me, this perfect mess I know as life
The most high smiles down on me as he observes “this work in progress”
So do not be alarmed when you hear me roar
For I am just releasing steam
Soon the winds will die down, the waters will recede and the smoke will clear
And then I will shine like the mighty sun on a gorgeous summer day
