Empty Pretties
I don't want your promises
They mean nothing to me
Just empty words with jagged edges
To tear at me and make me bleed
I don't need those whispers
Your pretty little lies
Sparkly and distracting
Trying to keep me from seeing the truth in your eyes
I mean as little as those words
A silly bauble on a golden string
I'm just as empty, just as worthless
Just a time consuming plaything
Something to relieve the tedium
Maybe brighten up the gloom
But easily replaced and forgotten
Left to collect dust in an empty room
They mean nothing to me
Just empty words with jagged edges
To tear at me and make me bleed
I don't need those whispers
Your pretty little lies
Sparkly and distracting
Trying to keep me from seeing the truth in your eyes
I mean as little as those words
A silly bauble on a golden string
I'm just as empty, just as worthless
Just a time consuming plaything
Something to relieve the tedium
Maybe brighten up the gloom
But easily replaced and forgotten
Left to collect dust in an empty room
