What We See And What We Hold
Hurtful words and vacant stares,
Make us put up our defensive walls.
Loving or crushed hearts always run in pairs,
Strong yet weak souls always take the falls.
A heart full of stone is very cold,
But a fire can burn from within.
Words and affections might turn out bold,
As fear is hit by anger burning the skin.
Tears crystallized as they run down the face,
Showing what is said and what it hides.
But one must take caution and hold in place,
As even one soul can have many sides.
Taking the last stand, last voice, last look,
Shows what truly lies in the heart.
Unless it's what someone dearly took,
Then your words are covered as you fall apart.
