Safe From Harm

     Here I am once again,
I'm scattered in this place.
Stuck in limbo, between lives and lost,
Scared by all there is to face.
Turn my head and tuck it in,
And rest it on your chest.
I know you’d save me if you could,
Because that's what you do best.
Walk in, I'm crying but I hold it back.
I don't want you to see my tears,
You ask me why, looking for the fix,
But blind to all my fears.
Some are buried, some are hidden,
Some are carried on my sleeve.
But push me too hard on the issue,
And I will just get up and leave.
I try to smile even when I don't,
I don't know how to let you through.
You are already past most of my walls,
And I don't know what else to do.
If I let you fix it, I'll feel weak,
I’ll just want to fall in your arms.
For now I know you'll hold me tight,
And keep me safe from harm.
