Where Were You??

Where  were you when my heart was breaking?
My dreams were shattered, and my hopes were taken?
Where were you when I cried an ocean of tears?
I needed you to rid me of all my fears!

Where did you go when I searched the world for you?
I was blind and needed your guidance too.
Why did you leave when I asked you to stay?
The faster I ran, the further you drew away.

I needed you to heal my bleeding scars.
To capture the moon and bring down the stars.
What happened to the promises you made?  
I'm burning in the sun, while you're enjoying the shade.

What were you doing while I drank myself to sleep?
At night by your side, who did you keep?
How did I fail you? What did I miss?
Til death do us part, from our very first kiss!

Why was I so easily fooled and so damn naive?
To put my trust in you and truly believe
That for once what you promised is going to be true?
But when I smile once again...trust that it won't be for you!
