OGBANJE (PSYCHOSIS) HAIKU
Now the dance is done
The dancer falls to the ground
Panting to the pulse
The drummer's fingers
Twitching against the current
Of the tortured hide
The ceremony
Of psychosis is over
Until the next dance.

is a damn fine read, and quite possibly the best haiku I've read. I can't pull it apart for you because it's spot on from start to finish. Well done.

Yes mine too... most girls that have psychosis which is called ogbanje in my culture, will have to undergo a rite of dance to be set free. It is usually a raw and exotic ceremony.
Thanks Kasandra for the appreciation.

...the madness is palpable, driven by the drum. What a dark and fantastic read! Nice, Divine.

It is a wonder how you got the palpability of the madness. It was clearly hidden in the poem. I admire you ability to read between the lines.
Thank you so much Lauren.

This isn't actually haiku, as haiku must have at least one seasonal word in each piece, and also must encompass a single image - thus it can't be as complex as this - so these are more senryu, but fucking awesome senryu. Great job, my friend.

First I got to learn of Haiku here, then you introduced me to cinquains, now I am getting to know of senryu from you. I think my time at this site is really worth it.
Thanks Jack.
