Childhood Nightmares
When the lights go dim
I see him
The darkness starts creeping in
Cold breaths cover my skin
Pressure builds on my chest
I simply can not rest
As I drift to sleep, I dream a dream
So much horror, but no ability to scream
My last ride in a car
Was that fateful trip from the bar
I start to shed a tear
But I am paralyzed in fear
The walls I built
Torn down by guilt
His body pressed against me
I cant move, I cant flee
You are evil, you are vain
Caused me so much pain
On the outside you seemed so nice
But on the inside your colder than ice
I try to run, I try hide
But on the inside I just died
For its just a dream, I must wake up
I survived another night, even if just by a stroke of luck
I see him
The darkness starts creeping in
Cold breaths cover my skin
Pressure builds on my chest
I simply can not rest
As I drift to sleep, I dream a dream
So much horror, but no ability to scream
My last ride in a car
Was that fateful trip from the bar
I start to shed a tear
But I am paralyzed in fear
The walls I built
Torn down by guilt
His body pressed against me
I cant move, I cant flee
You are evil, you are vain
Caused me so much pain
On the outside you seemed so nice
But on the inside your colder than ice
I try to run, I try hide
But on the inside I just died
For its just a dream, I must wake up
I survived another night, even if just by a stroke of luck
