removing the blinkers
who's left to lament the loss of this land
for we are only thieves
consumed by our world of make believe
television screens,scented face creams
plastic buddhas to morphine's sweet dreams
it's the law of jungle out here, eat or be eaten
no place to be honest or sincere, so sell sell sell
and don't waste my time if you can't watch the bottom line
so stuff your pockets with as much as you can
grab that penny from the baby's hand
the blood of the sacred is seeping to our feet
the law of the land is dismissed as obsolete
but can't you see you were born free
remember when you were you and i was me
not just another consumer television viewer
not just another worker part time lover
plastic faces with plastic souls
are selling us a lie wrapped neatly in a plastic world
you are of the earth the essence of the universe
a substantial being of infinite purpose
you are wind the rivers the snowcap mountain
the scorching desert the luscious summer rain
thru you the earth can breathe again
for we are only thieves
consumed by our world of make believe
television screens,scented face creams
plastic buddhas to morphine's sweet dreams
it's the law of jungle out here, eat or be eaten
no place to be honest or sincere, so sell sell sell
and don't waste my time if you can't watch the bottom line
so stuff your pockets with as much as you can
