Man and Stars
The stars looked down
on man and laugh.
For they hear of man's
ideas---their myths
about how to get to heaven.
They fashion paradise
in their minds
and the stars mocked them.
Do the stars acknowledge
man and his ideas of religion?
No.
Even if one descends
among the ants
and points to the truth
will man listen,
will he care?
No,
he will fall
for a fallen star
that tells him what he
wants to believe.
The heavens looked down
on man and laugh,
for they are making
fools out of themselves,
to get into paradise.

For they hear of man's
ideas---their myths
about how to get to heaven.
They fashion paradise
in their minds
