Last June
I wanted to tell you something, But I forgot what it was,
I wanted to give you something but life took it away,
You were taken from me on one hot June day and ever since then it's been a love one-way
As life left your breath and breath left your lungs
I felt something inside me that began to change
My heart beat faster while my thoughts slowed down
I take life for granted, But my days as a clown are over
You lifted your hand asking for me
I was too busy laughing for me to even see
You whispered my name and told me something
I'll never forget, "Never stop smiling or singing"
I always tell the story when it's me who leaves
When the sun still shines and the changing of leaves
You left me a present gift-wrapped in guilt
"I'm sorry for everything, I'm sorry for me"
I fell to my knees as you let my hand go,
I picked it back up but there's one thing you should know
You lifted your hand asking for me
I was too busy laughing for me to even see
You whispered my name and told me something
I'll never forget, "Never stop smiling or singing"
I kissed your hand that was bruised and just battered
I kissed your lips one more time as my heart was just shattered
Our life flashed before my eyes, It wasn't enough time
I whispered goodbye as I let you go
I told you one more thing that you'll never know
"Please don't go, I can't take another second without you"
Is this what life is just cracked up to be?
No life after death just more soot to see
You didn't have a chance to become what you could be
But I'll bring you through my trials
I need you just like you need me
I wanted to give you something but life took it away,
You were taken from me on one hot June day and ever since then it's been a love one-way
As life left your breath and breath left your lungs
I felt something inside me that began to change
My heart beat faster while my thoughts slowed down
I take life for granted, But my days as a clown are over
You lifted your hand asking for me
I was too busy laughing for me to even see
You whispered my name and told me something

I always tell the story when it's me who leaves
When the sun still shines and the changing of leaves
You left me a present gift-wrapped in guilt
"I'm sorry for everything, I'm sorry for me"
I fell to my knees as you let my hand go,

I need you just like you need me
