The Difference between Red & Brown Carpets

I have reason to believe
that the red carpet crawlers are boring
balls of lint wearing elegant dresses
sharp tuxedos displaying a perfect nobody
pretending to be somebody when asked
through a block buster camera lens
Oh how they can be somebody
to the dazed limelight rats
blinded by sparkling flashes and fascinated
with the trivial shine on a parked limousine
too distracted by the grandiose
of the Hollywood sign to notice
the streets are knee deep in polluted litter
the same streets home to the homeless bozo
only living for the miraculous chance
of being embraced by a charitable roof
where the limelight refuses to shine
because the carpet isn't red
the carpet is an indifferent brown
and this civilization of brown carpet crawlers
have endured a crying life with bloody knees
now telling stories of slapped in the face strife
that end with a relief like a gasp of fresh air
no longer under the scrutiny of red carpet laughter
knowing their brown carpet wasn't painted red
with the blood of dazed limelight rats
whom were foolish to believe in red carpet stories
told by perfect tuxedo wearing fucking nobodies
trying to hide the reason which makes me believe
that those red carpet crawlers are boring
